Looking up
A cloudless infinite sky-blue sky
Wind nudging sun-kissed bluestem into view
Sparkling fairy seeds humans need to strew
Instinctually.
Looking up
I can see only August’s legs
As he’s picking apples from the tree
But I can hear him, full of wisdom.
Looking up
From sunshine warmed, hard bumpy lumpy ground
Birdsong, wind
Whipping the hair on my head
And in my ears.
When did I last watch clouds rolling by?
