Faerie Trippin’

Come Fairies, take me out of this dull world, for I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame!”             William Butler Yeats

Faerie Trippin’ was an improvisational recording with a pretty little flute by Brad Young and the Gypsy scale. The name of the song was inspired by a flute friend who told me that while watching one of my flute and flower videos that she felt she was a fairy travelling through the garden. I kept most of the improv and added the voices of the giants and dragons to the backing track. A fairy tale was born.

This song calls for use of the imagination. The fairies are the flying insects of the garden, the giants are the rabbits and toads, the dragons the underground earthworms and slugs. It’s a busy world we barely notice. Creatures and plants orchestrating a symphony of their own, ignoring humans as we ignore them.

I travel the garden of music, thru inspiration. It’s a large, very large garden, seen?”    Peter Tosh
